		</div><p>Kanye West was taken to hospital suffering from <i>“temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration”,</i> according to celebrity website TMZ.</p>
<p>The musician was reportedly admitted to hospital after police were called to reports of a disturbance on Monday, a day after cancelling his tour.</p>
<p>Kanye’s doctor Michael Farzam called the emergency services and warned the rapper would become violent when police arrived to help him, it was reported.</p>
<p>Dr Farzam said his patient’s name was <i>“Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5’8″, 175 lbs … suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration,”</i> law enforcement sources told TMZ.</p>
<p>He also reportedly told police West had attempted to assault a staff member at a gym and he had placed West on an involuntary psychiatric hold, known as a 5150, meaning he was handcuffed to the stretcher as he was taken to hospital.</p>
<p>A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department told the Press Association: <i>“There was no crime involved so there was no police report.”</i> Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner has said the rapper is exhausted due to his gruelling tour.</p>
<p>The LAPD previously confirmed it responded to a report of a disturbance but the incident was deemed a “medical emergency”.</p>
