Kim Kardashian the leading face of Balenciaga took several days to make a statement over the rather disturbing Balenciaga ad campaign and unfortunately this has resulted into a huge public backlash on her, especially as a mother of four children.
She later issued a public statement on her Instagram after thousands complained but her statement does not state that she will be cutting ties with Balenciaga.
The reality star says she is “re-evaluating my relationship” with Balenciaga and that she is disturbed about the recent campaign by the fashion house.
Kardashian said she had remained silent in the days since the campaign was first posted online because she wanted to speak with the brand to “understand for myself how this could have happened”
“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened,” she wrote online.
“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images.
“The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.”
She continued:
“I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology.
“In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this to never happen again.
“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with — & the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
The fashion giant Balenciaga caused a huge public outrage following the recent ad campaign featuring disturbing pictures of uncomfortable children sexualised with teddy bears dressed in bondage and surrounded by sexual innuendos.
The ads showed various disturbing pictures of children including two young girls, both holding the stuffed animals, which were dressed in bondage clothing, and surrounded by an assortment of other items that resembles pornography.
Another photo also showed what appeared to be an excerpt from “unsettling” US Supreme Court documents.
There was a host of horrific, distasteful and actually disturbing pictures that suggest child porn and sexual abuse causing an ongoing outrage with members of the public cancelling and burning merchandise purchased from the embattled brand.
Balenciaga has recently cut ties with Kim Kardashian ex husband Kanye West over his recent anti-semitic statement which has lead to him losing a vast amount of his fortune. Not only did all the media houses cancelled him but all the fashion houses cancelled him too.
Balenciaga has since deleted their Twitter account and deleted all the images and pictures on Instagram but unfortunately for them the public have already downloaded and circulated their rather disgusting pictures that they had on their social media platform.
Many are saying that no apology is enough for sexually abusing children and they are demanding there has to be an investigation on the Balenciaga brand itself as they had more disturbing pictures of children dating back the last few years.
Kim Kardashian’s next move regarding this matter will be a game changer with the public as it seems the world is watching and expecting her to cut ties with the billion dollar brand.
