Keira Knightley has reportedly split from her boyfriend of five years Rupert Friend.
The 25-year-old Pirates Of The Caribbean star met the 29-year-old British actor when they appeared together in Pride And Prejudice in 2005, but the couple decided to call time on their relationship just before Christmas, The Sun reports.
Keira’s father Will Knightley is quoted by the newspaper as saying: “Yes, they have broken up. But that’s the way things go, unfortunately. The only option is to get on with things.”
He added: “They were together for quite a long time and it is always hard breaking up. She is focused on her work.”
Keira is about to appear on stage at London’s Comedy Theatre in Children’s Hour with Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson in the hit series.
The play, about two teachers at an all-girls boarding school who are accused by a wayward pupil of having a lesbian relationship, runs until April 30.
Rupert will next appear in Five Days Of August, a film about the Russia-Georgia conflict of 2008. He plays an American reporter in the movie, due out in March.
