<p>A 25-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after a paratrooper died when he was attacked on a night out.</p>
<p>Rory McWilliams, 20, from Northampton, was assaulted in the early hours of February 6 behind Domino&#8217;s Pizza in St Peters Way Car Park, Northampton.</p>
<p>The 20-year-old was reportedly celebrating his final weekend at home before his first tour of Afghanistan.</p>
<p>He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he died on February 12, Northamptonshire Police said.</p>
<p>A spokesman for the force said a 25-year-old man from Northampton was arrested by officers on Wednesday and has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the incident. He has since been released on police bail and will appear at Northampton Magistrates&#8217; Court on March 3.</p>
<p>A second 25-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder on February 17, was released on bail pending further inquiries.</p>
<p>Both men had previously been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident and released on bail.</p>
<p>After the attack, Mr McWilliams&#8217; brother Royal Marine Matthew McWilliams, who was with him on the night, urged witnesses to come forward.</p>
<p>Mr McWilliams&#8217; mother, Christine Akintoye, previously told the Northampton Chronicle: &#8220;Prison is too good for the low-lives who did this.</p>
<p>&#8220;You prepare yourself for something like this happening in Afghanistan but it&#8217;s shocking that he can end up like that after a night in Northampton.&#8221;</p>
