sitting pretty on top of the charts&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He held off Rihanna&&num;8217&semi;s What&&num;8217&semi;s My Name to take the top slot for the third week running with his cover of Biffy Clyro&&num;8217&semi;s When We Collide&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But he fell just short of achieving the biggest selling single of the year&period; That honour went to Eminem&&num;8217&semi;s Love The Way You Are&comma; a song featuring R&&num;038&semi;B star Rihanna&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The rapper&&num;8217&semi;s top seller was snapped up by 854&comma;000 people during 2010&period; Cardle managed to sell 815&comma;000 copies of his hit single&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Over in the album charts&comma; Rihanna&&num;8217&semi;s Loud crept up from second position to start 2011 at the top&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It pushed Take That&&num;8217&semi;s Progress down one spot&period; But members of the group could still raise a glass of bubbly in the knowledge that theirs was 2010&&num;8217&semi;s biggest selling album&period; And it took the title by some distance&comma; selling 1&period;84 million copies&comma; 610&comma;000 more than its closest rival&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Canadian crooner Michael Buble had the second biggest seller of the year with Crazy Love&comma; while Lady Gaga&&num;8217&semi;s The Fame came in third&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Plan B&&num;8217&semi;s The Defamation of Strickland Banks experienced a new year bump&comma; rising 18 places to become the third biggest selling album of the week&period; It helped him take the fifth spot in the list of best selling albums of the year&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The biggest selling compilation album of the year went to the latest in the Now That&&num;8217&semi;s What I Call Music range&period;
