		</div><p>Authorities in Mexico are investigating the circumstances around a meeting between actor Sean Penn and drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, according to a Government spokesman.</p>
<p>Guzman was on the run after a prison escape when he gave an interview to the Hollywood star in October.</p>
<p>It is believed the meeting was set up by the actress Kate del Castillo.</p>
<p>However, the actors themselves are not thought to be the subjects of any criminal proceedings, with the Mexican Attorney General&#8217;s Office saying that it “investigates actions”, “not people”.</p>
<p>Sean Penn has declared he has &#8220;nothing to hide&#8221;.</p>
