		</div><p>Michel Platini is to resign as UEFA president after failing to overturn his ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)</p>
<p>The court cut his sanction from six to four years, and Platini has responded by saying he will step down from the top UEFA position he has held since 2007.</p>
<p>Platini was ruled to be guilty of conflict of interest for taking a 2 million US dollars (£1.4m) payment from Fifa approved by Sepp Blatter in 2011.</p>
<p>He’s called the verdict a “deep injustice”, which is fine, except that pretty much nobody agrees.</p>
