		</div><p>Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has launched a scathing attack on party frontrunner Donald Trump in a bid to derail his race for office.</p>
<p>Trump is a “fraud” and has neither the temperament or the integrity to be president, said the 2012 Republican nominee, adding that the GOP should pick one of the other three candidates.</p>
<p>He told a University of Utah audience that “dishonesty is Donald Trump’s hallmark”.</p>
<p>Romney said: “His bankruptcies have crushed small businesses and the men and woman who work for them. He inherited his business, he didn’t create it.</p>
<p>“Whatever happened to Trump Airlines? How about Trump University and there’s the Trump magazine and Trump vodka and Trump steaks and Trump mortgage. A business genius he is not.”</p>
<p>2008 Republican candidate John McCain joined Romney in sharing his concerns over Trump. He said voters should “think long and hard about who they want to be our next commander in chief”.</p>
<p>Trump is leading the field of Republican hopefuls and this week picked up several key victories in the “Super Tuesday” delegate voting, seeing off his main rivals Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio in crucial states.</p>
<p>Trump is looked upon unfavourably by the Republican party he seeks to represent, largely because of his erratic policies and tendency to attract controversy.</p>
<p>His outspoken attacks on Mexicans and Muslims have drawn criticism from across the political spectrum but he remains popular with voters who are attracted by his contempt for political correctness.</p>
<p>Whether comments from former Republican candidates will sway any voters remains to be seen but Romney certainly didn’t pull any punches in his speech, calling Trump’s promises as “as worthless as a degree from Trump University”.</p>
