“They said we were powerless to stop Britain being forced into an EU army”, says PM David Cameron in his defense for the remain camp. He called Boris Johnson and Michael Gove out for saying many “complete untruths” during their leave campaign.

But was the information completely untrue?

In recent news, it was released that France and Germany have yet to reveal blueprints of an ‘ultimatum’ which essentially removes choice from the remaining member states of the EU.

The defense groups in each of the countries will have to abide by the rules of; relinquishment of their own army, law, taxation system or central bank, with most/all powers to be passed off to Brussels.

“A group of retired, senior military officers [had] issued a warning that staying in the EU would damage Britain’s military effectiveness. They say that EU law interferes with operational freedom and that moves to create an EU army are undermining Nato.” (BBC)

This has already ignited concern as well as panic in Poland, where the Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said, “This is not a good solution, of course, because from the time the EU was invented a lot has changed.

“The mood in European societies is different. Europe and our voters do not want to give the Union over into the hands of technocrats.

“Therefore, I want to talk about this, whether this really is the right recipe right now in the context of a Brexit.”

Without question, it is clear this is a defensive tactic by the leaders of the European Union to prevent the chance of other countries from “fleeing” the EU, as Chancellor Merkel said.

With only just 4 days in after the referendum results, we should expect more to come from both the UK economy, and the members of the European Union.
