The Google Nexus range of handset has been all about bringing high quality at a reasonable price, but they’ve never captured much market share. Which probably doesn’t bother Google much as they’re set to announce some new additions to the lineup.

A teaser site has appeared over here which shows the outline of a phone, a date of Octobre 4th and a Google symbol. It’s a pretty clear sign of what’s to come, and you can sign up with your email address to get the news as it happens.

On the rumour-side, we’re hearing that two new phones will be announced with 5 inch and 5.5 inch screens respectively- which is pretty much in keeping with the rest of the industry these days.

The other news is that Google could be renaming the brand to Pixel and also making them more premium items instead of affordable. That would come with a bump in specs and see the tech giant attempting to compete with the best in the market.

We’ll have to wait and see how that works out, if it is actually true.
