		</div><p>Donald Trump&#8217;s bid for the White House has received a boost after New York&#8217;s former mayor, Rudy Giuliani, said he is planning to vote for him in the city&#8217;s Republican primary.</p>
<p>Mr Giuliani&#8217;s spokesman, Jake Menges, said the former mayor considers Mr Trump &#8220;a friend&#8221;, and always believed he would back him over his rival Ted Cruz.</p>
<p>Mr Giuliani did not make an official endorsement because he will not be doing any campaigning on Mr Trump&#8217;s behalf.</p>
<p>Mr Giuliani, who was the city&#8217;s mayor when it was attacked on September 11, made a failed bid for the 2008 Republican nomination.</p>
<p>He has made several previous public appearances with Mr Trump, including at a golf tournament last summer after Mr Trump announced his candidacy.</p>
<p>The New York primary will be held on April 19.</p>
