Nigel Farage has ‘absolutely no idea’ what will happen if UK votes for Brexit

what will happen if Britain votes to Leave the European Union next week&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Ukip leader said his party&&num;8217&semi;s MEPs&comma; of which he is one&comma; would act as the &&num;8220&semi;canary in the mine shaft&&num;8221&semi; in the European Parliament if the British Government failed to act upon a Leave vote by the British people&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mr Farage was speaking during a walkabout with supporters in the London borough of Kingston-upon-Thames&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He arrived clutching a copy of Tuesday&&num;8217&semi;s Sun newspaper&comma; which announced its support for leaving the EU on its front page&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mr Farage said he was &&num;8220&semi;absolutely thrilled&&num;8221&semi; and &&num;8220&semi;over the moon&&num;8221&semi; with the newspaper&&num;8217&semi;s decision&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Arriving in Kingston aboard his bright purple Brexit battlebus&comma; to the theme tune of The Great Escape&comma; Mr Farage&comma; flanked by five security guards&comma; posed for selfies&comma; exchanged handshakes and even signed one supporter&&num;8217&semi;s car&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He also accepted a £5 note from another supporter&comma; who offered it on the condition he &&num;8220&semi;bought himself a beer&&num;8221&semi;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Polls in recent days have shown a rise in support for Leave&comma; but Mr Farage warned that any Brexiteer who thought they had it in the bag was a &&num;8220&semi;fool&&num;8221&semi;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A YouGov poll for The Times put Leave seven points ahead on 46&percnt;&comma; with Remain on 39&percnt;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>And a pair of ICM polls for The Guardian &&num;8211&semi; one carried out by telephone&comma; the other online &&num;8211&semi; has Leave ahead by 53&percnt; to 47&percnt;&comma; if the &&num;8220&semi;don&&num;8217&semi;t knows&&num;8221&semi; are excluded&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mr Farage admitted he had &&num;8220&semi;absolutely no idea&&num;8221&semi; what would happen after June 24 if the polls proved correct&comma; but said the effect on British politics could be &&num;8220&semi;very profound&&num;8221&semi;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He added&colon; &&num;8220&semi;Here we are&comma; with nine days to go&period; I&&num;8217&semi;m not contemplating anything afterwards&comma; Nothing&period; I just want to win this referendum&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;And then we&&num;8217&semi;ll have a sit down and a think about where we all go&period; But I think&comma; potentially&comma; the effects of this referendum on the Conservative Party&comma; the Labour Party&comma; Ukip&comma; could be very profound&period; We could see a big reshaping&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>During the campaign stop&comma; Mr Farage carried out a trademark pose with his passport&comma; telling supporters he wanted to declare June 23 &&num;8220&semi;UK Independence Day&&num;8221&semi;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Asked his opinion of former British prime minister Gordon Brown&&num;8217&semi;s intervention on Monday urging people to vote to remain in the EU&comma; Mr Farage said he thought it would further &&num;8220&semi;widen the gap&&num;8221&semi; between the Labour Party and its supporters&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He said&colon; &&num;8220&semi;I&&num;8217&semi;ve been to the real Labour heartlands in this country and&comma; let me tell you&comma; the Labour Party is utterly disconnected with a very large chunk of its roots&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>As he left Kingston&comma; Mr Farage posed for a photograph with former SNP voter Duncan Calderwood&comma; an IT engineer originally from Kilmarnock&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mr Calderwood&comma; 31&comma; said he had switched his allegiance from the SNP to Ukip just before the Scottish referendum in 2014 because he trusted the Ukip leader&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;He&&num;8217&semi;s controversial but honest&comma;&&num;8221&semi; said Mr Calderwood&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The visit to the town centre was largely positive for the long-time EU critic&comma; although chants of &&num;8220&semi;Three cheers to Nigel&&num;8221&semi;
