<p>Cheryl Cole&#8217;s representatives are keeping tight-lipped over reports that she is close to finalising a deal to be a panellist on the US version of The X Factor.</p>
<p>The singer is said to be in talks to reprise her role when Simon Cowell launches the talent contest across the Atlantic next year.</p>
<p>But Cheryl&#8217;s spokesman would not comment on any progress in the discussions this morning.</p>
<p>The Sun claimed that she was on the verge of signing a one-year deal worth up to £3 million to work on the show. Simon has given up his role as a judge on American Idol to launch X Factor in the US.</p>
<p>It is reported that bosses of the Fox network had been to see Cheryl at the weekend.</p>
<p>But the singer&#8217;s spokesman posted a message on Twitter this morning which read: &#8220;Wonder how many times we will say &#8216;No comment&#8217; today.&#8221;</p>
