Camila Cabello is leaving Fifth Harmony

Must read

Singer Camila Cabello is leaving girl group Fifth Harmony, it has been announced.

The 2012 X Factor USA contestants posted a statement on their Instagram page, revealing that Camila had quit, but it seems that she chose not to tell her band-mates in person.

Signed by remaining group members Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui, the post reads: “After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well.”

The Reflection and 7/27 singers thanked their fan base of Harmonizers and promised to continue making music, both as a group and as individual artists.

Gearing up to start the new year with a slightly adjusted line-up, they wrote: “You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, you’ve rejoiced and cried with us, you’ve grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on.

“That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us…for our fans.

“We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.”

Already well-practised in going solo, Cuban-American Camila, 19, recently collaborated with rapper Machine Gun Kelly to release the single Bad Things.

It follows her November 2015 duet with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes titled I Know What You Did Last Summer.

But, despite the move, it appears Camila has a few end-of-year jobs to finish with the group.
