		</div><p>One person has died and another has been injured after a shooting at a student housing complex at Texas Southern University.</p>
<p>University spokesman Kendrick Callis said the shooting was reported around 11.30am on Friday at University Courtyard Apartments on the edge of the Houston campus.</p>
<p>Mr Callis said the campus was placed on lockdown and classes were cancelled for the rest of the day.</p>
<p>Houston Police tweeted early on Friday afternoon that a possible suspect had been detained.<br />
Police and emergency vehicles are at the scene. </p>
<p>The university has about 9,700 students.</p>
<p>The incident occurred just hours after another shooting near the same housing complex.</p>
<p>The university said in a statement posted on its website that the earlier shooting occurred early on Friday morning, and that the school was increasing the police presence on campus.</p>
