<p>Ryan O&#8217;Neal has said it&#8217;s been wonderful having his daughter Tatum back in his life while they film a reality TV show about their troubled relationship.</p>
<p>The pair &#8211; who starred together in 1973 film Paper Moon &#8211; have recorded around half a dozen episodes of the as-yet untitled show, which has been commissioned for Oprah Winfrey&#8217;s OWN network.</p>
<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s wonderful to have back in my life,&#8221; Ryan revealed, adding that the series was Tatum&#8217;s idea.</p>
<p>&#8220;She sold it to me&#8230;frankly, I didn&#8217;t think that anybody would be interested and so, I just agreed, hoping that it would go away.&#8221;</p>
<p>Their father and daughter relationship was at its worst when Tatum wrote about her dad&#8217;s alleged drug abuse and being a bad father in her autobiography Paper Life in 2004. The healing began at the funeral of Ryan&#8217;s long-time companion Farrah Fawcett in 2009.</p>
<p>Tatum&#8217;s ex-husband, former tennis star John McEnroe, told The Wendy Williams Show he hopes their three grown children won&#8217;t appear on the series. </p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s an accident waiting to happen,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>No premiere date for the series has been announced yet.</p>
