<p>Oscar-nominated costumes from The King&#8217;s Speech and True Grit have gone on display with nearly 100 other movie outfits in a special exhibition.</p>
<p>Film fans can also get a close-up look at Helen Mirren&#8217;s ruffle-collared Elizabethan dress from The Tempest and Johnny Depp&#8217;s Mad Hatter headgear from Alice In Wonderland at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising&#8217;s annual Art Of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition in Los Angeles.</p>
<p>The show features four of the five costume design Oscar nominees &#8211; even though it was assembled before Academy Awards nods were announced.</p>
<p>&#8220;We have a 98% success rate,&#8221; curator and fashion historian Kevin Jones said.</p>
<p>&#8220;Costumes perform. They&#8217;re often the first thing that speak to the audience, before the actor even speaks. They set the time, the place, the economic status. It&#8217;s the great power of costumes for film.&#8221;</p>
<p>Other featured costumes include glitzy outfits worn by Christina Aguilera in Burlesque, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page&#8217;s clothes from Inception, and an outfit for each character in The Kids Are All Right.</p>
<p>Some of the most eye-catching costumes include those from Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time and Clash Of The Titans.</p>
