<p>Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that her marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is not easy.</p>
<p>The Oscar-winning actress, 38, said the couple, who wed seven years ago, had been through rough patches.</p>
<p>She told Good Housekeeping: &#8220;Marriage is hard. Chris and I have had our ups and downs, big-time. Marriage is way more complicated than just, who gets to control the remote? But hopefully we keep heading in the same direction and getting through the obstacles.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Country Strong star also revealed that she had taken her six-year-old daughter, Apple, out of school for the day so they could spend some time together after she returned from a business trip in Hong Kong.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll probably get kicked out of our school for admitting this,&#8221; Gwyneth, who is also mother to four-year-old Moses, admitted to the US edition of the mag, &#8220;but I let Apple stay home yesterday. I just needed to be with her. We went out to lunch, we went to the beauty salon, we were together.&#8221; </p>
<p>Gwyneth said that she and singer Chris still try to keep their family life private.</p>
<p>&#8220;If I&#8217;m looking grumpy in public or if Chris and I leave a restaurant separately, it&#8217;s only because we don&#8217;t want to encourage photographers,&#8221; she said.</p>
