		</div><p>Oscar Pistorius has said he thinks his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, who he shot dead, would want him to have a chance to redeem himself.</p>
<p>The athlete &#8211; who will be sentenced for Reeva&#8217;s murder next month &#8211; has done an interview which will be shown on ITV at 9pm tomorrow night.</p>
<p>Pistorius has already been in jail for her manslaughter, but that conviction was overturned.</p>
<p>Pistorius said he does not want to waste his life by going back to prison.</p>
<p>&#8220;If I was afforded the opportunity of redemption, I would like to help the less fortunate,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>&#8220;I would lilke to believe that if Reeva could look down upon me, that she would want me to live that life.&#8221;</p>
<p>Earlier this month, Reeva&#8217;s father Barry Steenkamp told the South African court that her fatal shooting by Oscar Pistorius has &#8220;devastated&#8221; his family, and that he thinks about her constantly.</p>
<p>In a voice shaking with emotion, Mr Steenkamp revealed he has tried to imagine the horrific moment of his daughter&#8217;s death, and said: &#8220;Oscar has to pay for what he did.&#8221;</p>
