for November to remain at 3&period;2&percnt; when the Office for National Statistics &lpar;ONS&rpar; discloses the latest pricing data&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>If the predictions are accurate&comma; CPI will have been above the Bank of England&&num;8217&semi;s 2&percnt; target for 12 months in a row&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The figure rose to 3&period;2&percnt; in October from 3&period;1&percnt; in September thanks to sharp rises in the cost of food and clothing&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Bank recently predicted a spike in inflation towards the end of the year in its quarterly forecast&comma; as commodity prices continue to soar&comma; but insisted that current levels of inflation were down to temporary price shocks&comma; such as food and petrol costs&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The gloomy forecasts were backed up by figures released yesterday that showed manufacturers faced a 9&percnt; year-on-year rise in input costs in November&comma; up from 8&period;2&percnt; the month before&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Input prices were pushed higher by rising crude oil and fuel costs&comma; while imported food materials also lifted&comma; although this was partially offset by a fall in home-produced food&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Experts said the pressure was unlikely to ease in the near future&comma; as oil prices have surged from 85 US dollars to 90 dollars a barrel in recent weeks&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Retailers offering promotions to win over cash-strapped consumers could help to limit the inflationary pressures&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Shop price inflation fell to 2&percnt;
