<p>Rihanna is apparently top of the list of stars being considered to appear in a remake of The Bodyguard.</p>
<p>Warner Bros has greenlit an updated adaptation of the 1992 hit action romance which starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner and which featured the number one single I Will Always Love You, Deadline reports.</p>
<p>The new film will apparently be scripted by Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer Deadline.com reports.</p>
<p>Rihanna, who makes her acting debut in action movie Battleship next year, was previously rumoured to be keen to appear in a remake of the film, which was one of the biggest global hits in history with worldwide profits of 411 million US dollars.</p>
<p>But other names are also being linked to the film, including Miley Cyrus and Beyonce.</p>
<p>However Beyonce looks an unlikely candidiate as she is due to star in Clint Eastwood&#8217;s remake of Judy Garland&#8217;s A Star Is Born, which is also being produced by Warner Bros.</p>
<p>GI Joe hunk Channing Tatum has been linked to the part of The Bodyguard.</p>
