		</div><p>Robert Downey Jr. has praised his son for &#8220;bravely&#8221; fighting his addiction.</p>
<p>The &#8216;Iron Man&#8217; star has congratulated his 22-year-old son Indio on his sobriety, after a court dismissed the musician&#8217;s charge for drug possession following a stint in rehab.</p>
<p>Robert wrote on Facebook: &#8220;Congrats are in order for my firstborn, and I&#8217;m proud to oblige &#8211; Having braved the crucible of addiction (and pleased the court), his ongoing commitment to recovery continues to inspire and amaze&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8220;As long as we can remember, Indio has been a musician at heart. In the last several years, with his band mate Ralph Alexander, I&#8217;ve witnessed their dedication, consistency, and determination to grow as artists. </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve also made it my business to be of as little help as possible, as nepotism usually does more harm than good&#8230; Just for today, I&#8217;m gonna ease up on that. Trust me and give these fine young men a listen.&#8221;</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the 50-year-old actor isn&#8217;t afraid of hard work and previously admitted he has &#8220;failed, succeeded [and] partied way too much&#8221; in his younger years.</p>
<p>He explained: &#8220;When I witnessed the first MTV Movie Awards. The first was in 1992, and that&#8217;s my generation&#8217;s version of the Oscars. And when the first Generational Award was given in 2005, I thought where&#8217;s mine!?</p>
<p>&#8220;In the 34 years that have passed since the birth of MTV, I&#8217;ve grown up, I&#8217;ve failed, succeeded, partied way too much, begged for second chances and literally clawed my way to the top. Dream big, work hard, keep your nose clean. Be of service, and yes, because you can &#8212; define your generation.&#8221;</p>
