<p>Sir Elton John apologised today after swearing on air during an appearance on the Radio 2 breakfast show.</p>
<p>The programme&#8217;s host, Chris Evans, was telling the star that Jools Holland starts the day by playing the piano, when he sighed and said: &#8220;Oh f****** hell&#8221;.</p>
<p>The pair both said sorry and the veteran singer then apologised again for saying &#8220;that naughty word&#8221;.</p>
<p>Sir Elton also said the long-planned film about his life would be &#8220;a kind of fantasy&#8221; and compared it to Baz Luhrmann&#8217;s Moulin Rouge.</p>
<p>He said: &#8220;My life&#8217;s been so surreal &#8211; from a football club to God knows what.&#8221;</p>
<p>A BBC spokeswoman said: &#8220;Both Sir Elton and Chris apologised many times on this morning&#8217;s live Chris Evans Breakfast Show for the language used by Sir Elton. The BBC apologises if any offence was caused.&#8221;</p>
<p>It is not the first time guests have turned the air blue during an interview with Chris.</p>
<p>The BBC apologised in 2009 after George Michael swore during his radio show and Shaun Ryder swore during an appearance on the Channel 4 TFI Friday television show &#8211; despite Evans promising to give him his shoes if he managed to get through the interview without doing so.</p>
