here’s how winter weather is currently looking across the country&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b><u>Cumbria<&sol;u><&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Local authorities are &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;monitoring the situation closely” as more rain is expected to fall on already sodden fells and swollen rivers – with the worst weather for Cumbria expected on the evening of Christmas Day&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Towns and villages in Cumbria&comma; still dealing with the aftermath of Storm Desmond earlier this month&comma; were flooded for the third time in a month on Tuesday&comma; with Glenridding&comma; Keswick and Kendal all hit again&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In Appleby&comma; the River Eden burst its banks once more&comma; causing localised flooding in the low-lying Sands area of the town&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Martin Stephenson&comma; a Cumbria County Councillor for Appleby&comma; said from the riverbank&colon; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We are not looking forward to the arrival of Eva&comma; the next storm coming in on Christmas Day&comma; having had two floods already&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b><u>York<&sol;u><&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The River Ouse in York is continuing to rise – with flooding of riverside properties in the City centre even before Storm Eva&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Paul Mustow&comma; deputy director in flood and coastal risk management at the Environment Agency&comma; said&colon; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The Environment Agency is also preparing for the possibility of further unsettledweather from Christmas Day into Boxing Day&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Continuing rain in Wales could also see parts of Herefordshire&comma; Worcestershire and Shropshire experience flooding impacts to land and roads from the River Wye and River Severn&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;There is also the chance of seeing further flooding impacts for parts of the River Ouse in Yorkshire and the City of York over the coming days&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b><u>Colchester<&sol;u><&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It’s all about the unseasonably mild weather in Colchester – as a winter wonderland has been forced into liquidation&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Colchester Winter Wonderland and Ice Rink opened 25 days ago but has been unable to open on six of those days&period; Customers posted on Facebook to described the ice rink as &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;one huge puddle” and a &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;swimming pool ice rink”&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It comes as the chances of a white Christmas look slim – not only with the country bracing itself for Storm Eva but also because of a period of unusually mild temperatures&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b><u>TYNEMOUTH<&sol;u><&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>No sign of Storm Eva here yet&comma;
