Strike by Heathrow workers suspended to allow more talks

causing disruption to passengers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But the scale of disruption would have been worse if Monday’s strike had gone ahead&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Passengers are being urged to check with their airline for the latest news on flights&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In a statement on Sunday night&comma; British Airways said it would be reinstating flights from Heathrow on Monday&comma; while Aer Lingus also said it planned to operate all flights to and from the airport&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Virgin Atlantic said it would continue with its plan to move a small number of flights to operate from Gatwick Airport&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><&excl;--Ads2--><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;These services will not revert back to the original London Heathrow schedule and will remain in place&comma;” the airline said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>We will continue talks with Unite tomorrow and we remain hopeful that we can find a resolution and stop this disruptive and unnecessary threat of strike action<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>Unite members&comma; including security staff&comma; firefighters and engineers have voted hea against a pay offer Heathrow said was worth 7&period;3&percnt; over two-and-a-half years&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A Heathrow spokesman said&colon; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We will continue talks with Unite tomorrow and we remain hopeful that we can find a resolution and stop this disruptive and unnecessary threat of strike action&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Airlines may choose to reinstate impacted flights&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We regret that passengers have been inconvenienced by this and urge them to contact their airline for up to date information on the status of their service&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;On Tuesday’s planned strike&comma;
