<p>Chart-topping boy band The Wanted are to record this year&#8217;s Comic Relief single.</p>
<p>The quintet &#8211; who scored a number one last year with All Time Low &#8211; will release their charity track Gold Forever next month.</p>
<p>They follow acts such as Spice Girls, McFly, Westlife and The Saturdays to release the official song for the biennial fundraising event, Red Nose Day.</p>
<p>The song will be out as a digital download on March 13 and in shops the following day.</p>
<p>The group&#8217;s Max George said: &#8220;This song is about a day in your life that you never forget. It&#8217;s an upbeat, feel-good track and our favourite so far.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re really excited to get it out there, and delighted that it is supporting such a great cause.&#8221;</p>
<p>Bandmate Jay McGuiness said: &#8220;We&#8217;re in a position where we can contribute to Comic Relief. We grew up watching it as kids and to be involved is crazy but an absolute honour.&#8221;</p>
<p>The band&#8217;s self-titled debut album went top-five last year.</p>
<p>The Wanted will perform the track on the TV telethon on March 18.</p>
<p>Money raised will go to vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa.</p>
