<p>Twitter, in a bid to drive engagement and gain more users, is planning to offer revenue from videos posted to the site to the individuals who created them.</p>
<p>The Amplify Publisher programme, usually reserved for businesses, will be open to individuals publishing video content, with 70% of the ad revenue going to the creator, according to CNBC.</p>
<p>YouTube and Facebook have been sharing revenue with content creators on their platforms for a while and Twitter is playing catch up, at the same time as those sites are investing more in live videos.</p>
<p>Twitter is also giving users the opportunity to collaborate with brands through the start-up it acquired last year, Niche, who connect creators from platforms like Vine to brands needing content.</p>
