<p>Two demonstrators have died in protests over rising food prices which have swept Algerian cities, the country&#8217;s Interior Minister said.</p>
<p>Dahou Ould Kablia said at least 300 police officers have been injured since Wednesday when the unrest started, along with 100 protesters.</p>
<p>One demonstrator died in rioting near M&#8217;Sila, a city 215 miles (350km) south-east of the capital, Algiers, and the other died in Bousmail, a western suburb of Algiers. The ministry did not provide further details.</p>
<p>The Arab-language newspaper El Khabar reported that an 18-year-old was shot dead when police fired to disperse rioters near M&#8217;Sila.</p>
