<p>Looks like young people aged from 16 to 24 living with their parents will most likely increase. The ONS released a statistic about the number of families that are in the UK. The traditional married couple (husband, wife, children), isn&#8217;t necessarily the norm in this modern day. In fact, there are more families without children. The data showed that in 2015 there were at least 7.8 million families without children, an increase form the 7.5 million families in 2005 without children. At least since 2005, the number of married couples with children stayed at 4.5 million with little to no increase.</p>

<p>Although in other categories such as non married couples with children and single parents, had increased by a small number over the past decade. However this still adds up to a total of 18,712 families in the UK, inclusive of families of all types like civil partnerships and single parents (same sex marriages with children dependent was not calculated in this statistic).</p>
<p>HOW DO SINGLE PEOPLE MEASURE UP?</p>
<p><b>Young adults aged 15 to 34 living with their parents, 1996 to 2015</b></p>

<p>Well, the age group from 15 to 34 was tested to determine how many of them live with their parents. The data was collected and compared to 1996, and the results showed that around 6.6 million 15 to 34 year olds still lived with their parents, up from the 5.8 million in 1996. Although the number increased over a period of time, the percentage of the total population who still live with their parents increased from 36% to 40%. This probably due to an increased number of those wanting higher education or training for longer periods of time, also it has become more expensive to rent or buy a home.</p>
