<p>The winner of the US X Factor is set to bag a 5 million dollar record deal, thought to be the biggest guaranteed prize in television history, TV bosses have revealed.</p>
<p>Fox executives said auditions for contestants on Simon Cowell&#8217;s talent show will begin on March 27 in Los Angeles.</p>
<p>The contest &#8211; which the entertainment mogul left American Idol in part to concentrate on &#8211; will air Stateside next autumn.</p>
<p>Since its debut in the UK in 2004, the show has been a successful format in several other countries.</p>
<p>Simon will be an on-air participant in the US version of The X Factor, which Fox advertised during Sunday&#8217;s Super Bowl. Other judges have not been announced yet.</p>
<p>The winner of the inaugural American edition will get a recording contract with Syco, a joint venture between Simon and Sony Music.</p>
