		</div><p>Volkswagen has found a new issue around what it calls &#8220;unexplained inconsistencies&#8221; in carbon dioxide emissions from 800,000 vehicles.</p>
<p>The latest revelation, where the car maker&#8217;s admits carbon dioxide emissions were underestimated on 800,000 of its cars, could impact on motor tax levels by putting vehicles into a different tax band.</p>
<p>The car maker has not revealed the models involved.</p>
<p>The issue mostly affects diesel models, but for the first time some petrol vehicles are also included.</p>
<p>The German car giant is still reeling from the scandal of cheating US tests for nitrogen oxide.</p>
<p>It is estimated the latest problem will cost it around €2bn.</p>
