to 5&comma;237&period;11&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>For months&comma; investors viewed Mr Trump and his proposed agenda as a more risky bet for the economy and the markets than his rival&comma; who had been widely perceived as the candidate most likely to keep the status quo in place&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But then the billionaire won&comma; cut taxes and relax regulations that affect energy&comma; finance and other businesses&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>That agenda flipped investors&&num;8217&semi; priorities this week away from defensive assets like bonds&comma; utilities and phone companies&comma; which traders had favoured for much of this year&comma; to healthcare&comma; industrial and financial stocks&comma; which notched their best week since 2009&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The trades mark a reversal from the last couple of years&comma; when investors coped with government gridlock&comma; sluggish economic growth and low interest rates by prizing less-risky assets and stocks like phone companies and utilities with high dividends&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Investors also are betting that Mr Trump&&num;8217&semi;s policies will lead to higher interest rates&comma; which benefits banks by making it more profitable to lend money&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The anticipation of higher interest rates fuelled the sell-off in bonds this week that sent bond prices lower and drove up the yield on the 10-year Treasury note to the highest level since January&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>On Monday it was 1&period;83&percnt; and it hit 2&period;14&percnt; as of late Thursday&period; Bond trading was closed on Friday in observance of Veterans&&num;8217&semi; Day&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>That yield is a benchmark used to set interest rates on many kinds of loans including home mortgages&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The move away from bonds&comma;
