<p>A wayward sea lion trying to escape down a highway along the Oregon coast was given an escort from state troopers, officials said.</p>
<p>The Oregon State Police said the animal apparently walked onto US Highway 101 through a state park near Yachats and weaved in and out of traffic for about half a mile.</p>
<p>Troopers and a local fire and rescue unit used batons and plastic boards designed to keep patients immobile as they guided the sea lion to the side of the road.</p>
<p>The animal was led back into the Pacific Ocean after the procession moved it to a beach park about a quarter mile down the road from where it was found.</p>
