Ed Westwick can finally walk down the street without being mobbed by fans of his hit TV series Gossip Girl.
The English-born actor, who plays rich kid Chuck Bass in the show, now in its fourth series, said leaving the house used to be tricky.
But he told Tatler he could now pop out to buy a bottle of milk, “though heads may turn” adding: “When it was, like, the second series, it was crazy.”
The 23-year-old, who split, got back together with, and then broke up again with his co-star Jessica Szohr, said: “I think the last year has been a year where I’ve grown up a hell of a lot – you know certain situations and things.”
Of his on-screen alter-ego he said: “I was fascinated by him. But now, to be completely honest, I’m ready to do something else. Really ready to do something else.”
