		</div><p>Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer has said he is uplifted by the way the community has come together during a city-wide prayer service for the 49 people who were killed in a nightclub shooting.</p>
<p>More than 1,000 people &#8211; including many clergy and local, state and national civic leaders &#8211; met at First Baptist Orlando to hold a vigil for the victims of the Sunday morning shooting at the Pulse nightclub.</p>
<p>Mr Dyer said to the crowd: &#8220;We will not be defined by the act of a hate-filled killer. We will be defined by our love, compassion and our unity.&#8221;</p>
<p>He said officials are putting together an Orlando Family Assistance Centre. It will open on Wednesday at Camping World Stadium.</p>
<p>The shooting at the gay dance club ended when police killed gunman Omar Mateen.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, his ex-wife has urged people not to quickly assign a motive to the attack.</p>
<p>Sitora Yusufiy said in an interview on CNN that Mateen was unstable and prone to emotional outbursts while they were together but she never heard him express any radicalism.</p>
<p>She said she had not talked to him for a while but would not be surprised to learn he was leading a double life and in deep internal conflict.</p>
<p>&#8220;I just hope that people, without making rash judgments on one another, can truly understand that this is one insane person that did such a tragic thing,&#8221; she said.</p>
