You’ll soon be able to exchange your cracked iPhone for cash towards a new one

Must read

Good news is on the horizon for all you clumsy iPhone owners, as Apple is about to launch a new initiative that’ll allow you to swap your broken device for store credit.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is set to update their iPhone trade-in programme and will soon begin accepting the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6/6 Plus with damaged screens, cameras or buttons, in exchange for credit.

The current Apple Store Reuse and Recycle iPhone scheme only allows customers to swap their old or unwanted handsets but Apple believe their new programme will encourage users to upgrade to new iPhone models, as opposed to forking out for screen repairs.

And rumour has it that the trade-in values stand at $50 (£34) for a 5s, $200 (£138) for a 6, and $250 (£173) for a 6 Plus.
