		</div><p>Zooey Deschanel has reportedly converted to Judaism.</p>
<p>The &#8216;New Girl&#8217; star, who has three-month-old daughter Elsie Otter with producer husband Jacob Pechenik, was raised by a Roman Catholic mother and Quaker father, but recently decided to embrace her spouse&#8217;s faith. </p>
<p>A source close to the 35-year-old actress said: &#8220;Zooey converted to Judaism for Jacob.&#8221;</p>
<p>The brunette beauty previously admitted she was interested in most beliefs, saying: &#8220;My family is liberal. I was raised in the &#8216;you can be whatever you want&#8217; kind of way. And in the end, I was like, &#8216;Eh.&#8217; I mean I&#8217;m interested in theology, and I love reading about it. But I don&#8217;t attach myself to any one religion or other.&#8221;</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Zooey and Jacob, who tied the knot in June, are adjusting well to parenthood.</p>
<p>The insider told Us Weekly magazine: &#8220;They&#8217;re loving the baby and marriage.&#8221;</p>
<p>The couple recently revealed Elsie&#8217;s middle name was inspired by their mutual love of sea otters and hope she grows up to love the animals as much as they do.</p>
<p>The actress said: &#8220;We just really like the name Elsie, and then we both love otters. They&#8217;re really sweet, they&#8217;re also smart, they use tools to keep their favourite tools, they hold hands while they sleep. There&#8217;s so many amazing things about otters. They&#8217;re wonderful animals.&#8221;</p>
