<p>Sixteen people have been killed and another 23 hurt in road accident, aChinese state news agency has reported.</p>
<p>The official Xinhua News Agency said the accident happened early on Wednesday in the central province of Henan.</p>
<p>It did not immediately give any other details.</p>
<p>Serious traffic accidents are common in China due to overloaded vehicles, poor safety practices and bad driving habits.</p>
