		</div><p><strong>World leaders have gathered in New York as this year&#8217;s UN General Assembly kicks off. The two-day summit is expected to deal with the wars in Ukraine, and the Middle East and the dangers of rapid AI development.</strong></p>
<p>UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres opened the assembly with a remarkable opening quote;</p>
<p><strong>&#8220;Enough is enough.&#8221; </strong></p>
<p>A direct appeal to world leaders to use this week&#8217;s General Assembly to resolve ongoing wars across the Middle East. As he addresses the Assembly in New York. September 22 marks the start of the general debate, where all 193 UN member states are invited to address the General Assembly.</p>
<p>UN Secretary General António Guterres urged an end to Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank, warning that the world cannot allow the two-state solution to disappear before its eyes. Addressing the 81st UN General Assembly session in New York, he highlighted legally binding measures issued by the International Court of Justice on Gaza and stressed that military power alone cannot secure peace.</p>
<p>He concluded saying: “This is my last #UNGA as Secretary-General and my message is clear: We need international dialogue, cooperation and collective action — now more than ever.</p>
<p>I will not give up the fight for a better world for everyone.”</p>

<p><strong>President Donald Trump addresses the UN General Assembly:</strong></p>
<p>US President Donald Trump told the UN General Assembly he does not &#8220;believe in letting problems fester,&#8221; citing Iran as the clearest example of a danger allowed to grow and said his military&#8217;s strikes on its nuclear program as proof he acts where others talk. He went further by saying:</p>
<p>&#8216;While others have talked, I have acted; While others have spoken of peace, I have made peace; While others have ignored threats, I have confronted them&#8217;</p>
<p>During his speech, he blasted Cuba saying:</p>
<p>“My administration is also seeking a fundamental change in the situation in Cuba, where the communist regime is under great pressure, the biggest pressure they&#8217;ve ever been under. It&#8217;s an absolutely failed state. It&#8217;s failing like never before, and it will fall.”</p>
<p>“The Cuban regime has also spent decades coordinating with the left-wing radicals and communist networks here in the United States. As our State Department has detailed, they&#8217;ve cultivated ties to subversive and radical groups such as the Communist Party USA, Antifa, and the Dumocrat Socialists of America.”</p>
<p>Immediately after condemning Cuba, Cuban representatives immediately get up and walk out of the UN General Assembly.</p>
<p><strong>Speaking on Artificial Intelligence:</strong></p>
<p>President Trump said U.S. government documents will use the term “Super Intelligence,” arguing that “artificial” makes the technology sound fake.</p>
<p>“Whoever wins super intelligence wins,” Trump said, adding that he does not want to stifle development of a technology he believes could become bigger than the Industrial Revolution.</p>
<p>He also rejected international efforts to broadly control AI development.</p>

<p>Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says trust in the UN has faded due to its failure to maintain international peace and security, while some countries act as if international rules do not apply to them.</p>
<p>&#8220;If someone in a country like Iran faces a problem, they shed crocodile tears and make a huge fuss. But for the crimes committed against us, we saw no serious condemnation.&#8221;</p>
<p>Dr. Araghchi says Iran will use the General Assembly to tell the world about the victims of its war, including 168 children it says were killed, and explain why trust in the UN has collapsed.</p>
