<p>Spanish police have arrested a British man whose brother-in-law was found dead in Barcelona.</p>
<p>David Keith Brennan is being held by authorities in the city after Stephen Storey&#8217;s death. According to reports, the two men were brothers-in-law.</p>
<p>A Foreign Office spokesman said: &#8220;We can confirm the death of a British national in Barcelona on February 4. We have notified next of kin and are providing consular assistance.</p>
<p>&#8220;We can confirm the arrest of a British national and we are also providing consular assistance. Consular officials in Barcelona are in touch with police and local authorities about the case.&#8221;</p>
<p>Local police said they were called to a hotel where two men were having a fight in one of the rooms.</p>
<p>Mr Storey, 47, died of his injuries, a spokeswoman said.</p>
<p>Brennan, 49, was initially arrested on suspicion of murder but detectives are still investigating the incident and are now questioning him &#8220;in connection with the death&#8221; as they have not yet established whether Mr Storey was murdered.</p>
<p>The spokeswoman for the Mossos d&#8217;Esquadra, the Catalonian force, said: &#8220;The Mossos d&#8217;Esquadra have arrested David KB, 49.</p>
<p>&#8220;At 2am the force received a call about a fight that had broken out between two relatives in a hotel room. As a result of the fight one of the men, a 47-year-old, died. The cause of his death is under investigation.&#8221;</p>
<p>Brennan is expected to appear in court on Saturday, when a judge will decide whether to charge him, she added.</p>
