<p>British stars Muse, La Roux and Jeff Beck have scooped awards at the Grammys &#8211; where Lady Gaga hatched from a giant egg.</p>
<p>Muse won the rock album gong for The Resistance, while London duo La Roux took home best electronic/dance album for their self-titled debut.</p>
<p>English guitarist Jeff Beck won two awards &#8211; best pop instrumental performance and rock instrumental performance.</p>
<p>Lady Gaga stole the show in typically eccentric fashion by being carried down the red carpet and on to the stage in an egg.</p>
<p>Her trophies included best female pop vocal performance for Bad Romance and pop vocal album for The Fame Monster.</p>
<p>In another colourful performance, Gwyneth Paltrow performed Forget You with Cee Lo Green and The Muppets.</p>
<p>Justin Bieber had been hotly tipped to do well at this year&#8217;s ceremony but was left empty-handed.</p>
