<p>Former US president George W Bush has cancelled plans to attend an education discussion in Denver, citing an invitation to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the same event.</p>
<p>Mr Bush was to attend the event on Saturday, but his spokesman, David Sherzer, said that he did not want to share a forum with someone who has &#8220;wilfully and repeatedly done great harm to the interests of the US&#8221;.</p>
<p>Mr Assange is in Britain, fighting extradition to Sweden as part of a sex crimes inquiry.</p>
<p>He is free on bail, but it was not immediately clear if he ever planned to be in Denver.</p>
<p>WikiLeaks has released tens of thousands of secret US government and military documents.</p>
