		</div><p>Artists that put out free music for their fans are being unfairly penalised, according to a petition backed by Chance the Rapper.</p>
<p>The Recording Academy says that to be eligible for Grammy nomination music must be “commercially released in general distribution in the United States”.</p>
<p>Chance is yet to ask his fans to pay for one of his projects, and the petition singles him out as one of the artists “not getting the recognition they truly deserve”.</p>
<p>Acid Rap is free to stream on SoundCloud, while his project with The Social Experiment is free on iTunes.</p>
