<p>Johnny Depp has jumped to the defence of his latest film The Tourist, insisting he wouldn&#8217;t change a thing about it.</p>
<p>Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck&#8217;s thriller, which also starred Angelina Jolie, was expected to be a box office hit but had a disappointing opening weekend on its release last month.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;d do it exactly the same &#8211; I don&#8217;t know the main ingredient of success at the box office, I just feel that&#8217;s not something I can do anything about,&#8221; he told Entertainment Weekly.</p>
<p>Despite the film receiving miserable reviews, with Rotten Tomatoes saying it had a &#8220;slow, muddled plot&#8221; and a &#8220;lack of chemistry&#8221; between the two stars, it is up for three Golden Globe awards, including acting nods for Johnny and Angelina.</p>
<p>Johnny, who plays a maths teacher caught up in international intrigue while on a European holiday, continued: &#8220;I wanted to work with Angelina and I felt like I had a good handle on the character. It was not a character that I&#8217;d really played before.&#8221;</p>
<p>Next for the actor is Gore Verbinski&#8217;s Rango, where he voices the title chameleon hero, and the fourth instalment of Pirates Of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which will be released in May.</p>
