<p>Michael Douglas is feeling &#8220;very good&#8221; according to his father Kirk.</p>
<p>The 93-year-old discussed Michael&#8217;s treatment for throat cancer before serving up Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless in Downtown, Los Angeles.</p>
<p>&#8220;Michael is very good, I spoke to him yesterday,&#8221; Kirk revealed.</p>
<p>He went on: &#8220;He&#8217;s much stronger now, he&#8217;s feisty and he is talking about doing his next picture which is on Liberace.&#8221;</p>
<p>Michael is set to play the infamous American entertainer and pianist in Steven Soderbergh untitled biopic for Warner Brothers. Matt Damon will reportedly co-star.</p>
<p>Kirk and his wife Anne have now hosted the special meal at the the Los Angeles Mission on Skid Row for the last six years.</p>
<p>&#8220;My wife, who runs the Anne Douglas Centre for Homeless Women, makes me come here whether I want to or not every year and I&#8217;m glad to be here,&#8221; he teased.</p>
<p>&#8220;Thanksgiving is a day we should remember every other day of the year, to help people that need help, that&#8217;s very important,&#8221; he insisted.</p>
<p>Hundreds of volunteers came out to help, including some celebs. Sarah Drew (Grey&#8217;s Anatomy), Linda Gray (Dallas), Neal McDonough (Desperate Housewives), Kaycee Stroh (High School Musical) and Blair Underwood (The Event) helped dish out food.</p>
<p>More than a ton of turkey, 700 pounds of garlic mashed potatoes, 250 gallons of giblet gravy, 800 pounds of mixed vegetables, 300 pounds of cranberry relish were served up to guests.</p>
