<p>Sir Elton John has confirmed that he is on the guestlist for the biggest event of the year &#8211; Prince William and Kate Middleton&#8217;s wedding.</p>
<p>The singer told Canadian TV that he and his long-term partner David Furnish had received an invite.</p>
<p>When interviewed on CTV&#8217;s Marilyn Denis Show on Tuesday, the singer told the host &#8220;As far as I know, I don&#8217;t have an invitation&#8221;, but when pressed he admitted: &#8220;Yeah, we do have an invitation&#8221;.</p>
<p>The star added: &#8220;I&#8217;ve been trying to be discreet, yeah, we got an invitation.&#8221;</p>
<p>Asked if he would be joining the other guests at Westminster Abbey on April 29, he replied: &#8220;Yeah, I think we will.&#8221;</p>
<p>Sir Elton previously said he was not expecting an invite to the wedding despite being a close friend of William&#8217;s mother Diana, Princess of Wales.</p>
<p>On the 10th anniversary of Diana&#8217;s death in 2007, the singer opened and closed a Wembley Stadium concert organised by William and his brother Prince Harry in memory of their mother.</p>
<p>But the musician revealed recently that he did not really know the princes.</p>
