<p>A state of emergency has been declared and residents evacuated after heavy rainfall caused floods in several areas of Bosnia.</p>
<p>In the eastern town of Foca, rescuers used boats to evacuate people as water reached the first floors, officials said.</p>
<p>Schools are closed, half of the town has no electricity, city water can no longer be drunk and in nearby Gorazde the federal army helped the evacuation.</p>
<p>It is still raining throughout the country and authorities warn more rivers &#8211; especially in the south &#8211; are threatening to burst their banks.</p>
<p>City officials in Foca say the Drina river has not risen as high for the past 104 years.</p>
<p>In neighbouring Serbia hundreds were also evacuated.</p>
<p>In western Serbia, the Drina flooded houses, farming land and roads.</p>
<p>In northern Montenegro some 600 people were evacuated spending the night in a community centre.</p>
