There’s a new Ghostbusters in the works, with a mostly female cast and directed by Paul Feig – who also directed Bridemaids and recent hit Spy.

But it’s not going to be all new faces, we’ve previously heard that original cast members Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray will be having cameos in the new film – though they’ll be totally unrelated to their original roles. And now, Ernie Hudson is also back in action.

The actor, who originally played Winston in the 1984 and 1989, was on set on the very last day of shooting to shoot some kind of cameo. We don’t know just yet what the role will involve but its almost certainly an entirely new character as we’ve heard there’s no connection to the older films.

On the one hand, it’ll be nice to see these guys back on the big screen (though Murray never really went away) but having all three of them involved also seems a bit weird, especially when Feig has been clear that he wants to create his own new vision. Some of the cameos sound a little corny as well, references catchphrases and the like, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Ghostbusters is in cinemas in July 2016.
