<p>Hollywood star Harrison Ford has paid tribute to his friend Michael Douglas for beating throat cancer.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m so glad to hear the news. I&#8217;m very happy for him because he&#8217;s a great guy,&#8221; Ford said at the UK premiere of Morning Glory in London&#8217;s West End.</p>
<p>Oscar-winner Douglas, who was diagnosed with the disease last year, revealed in a US TV interview that the tumour is gone and he is &#8220;relieved&#8221;.</p>
<p>In Roger Michell&#8217;s drama about a fictional American breakfast show, Daybreak, 68-year-old Ford plays cranky anchorman Mike Pomeroy alongside Rachel McAdams as news producer Becky Fuller.</p>
<p>Becky has finally landed her dream job, taking the reins of the national news show in New York, but Mike is her biggest obstacle to her rise to the top.</p>
<p>&#8220;My character is an ass, but he&#8217;s about to learn something, which Rachel&#8217;s character teaches him,&#8221; he explained.</p>
<p>&#8220;Every job is kind of the same &#8211; the character is to tell the story &#8211; but it&#8217;s a good movie and I was happy to do it.&#8221;</p>
<p>Covered up in a navy blue coat with diamante detail, McAdams, 32, praised her seasoned co-star.</p>
<p>&#8220;I do get starstruck with people like Harrison. I grew up loving his work &#8211; I definitely had butterflies when I was working with him, but he put me at ease,&#8221; she admitted.</p>
<p>Morning Glory opens in cinemas on Friday January 21.</p>
