<p>Actor Michael Douglas said his tumour has gone and he may have beaten throat cancer.</p>
<p>In an interview for US TV network NBC&#8217;s Today show, the Hollywood star, who is married to actress Catherine Zeta Jones, said he felt relieved after a &#8220;wild, six-month ride&#8221; and said: &#8220;I feel good, relieved. The tumour is gone.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;But, you know, I have to check out on a monthly basis now to maintain. I guess there&#8217;s not a total euphoria,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll probably take a couple of months of getting checked out. But it&#8217;s been a wild six-month ride.&#8221;</p>
<p>He added: &#8220;I think the odds are, with the tumour gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I&#8217;ve got it beat.&#8221;</p>
<p>He also told Today show host Matt Lauer that he had been &#8220;eating like a pig&#8221; after losing weight during his treatment. He said he had lost 32lb (14.5kg), but was now working out and had put 12lb (5.5kg) back on.</p>
<p>Douglas, 66, is set to begin filming Steven Soderbergh&#8217;s Liberace in May or June. He will be playing the title role.</p>
<p>He has also been nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.</p>
<p>The actor revealed he had throat cancer last August.</p>
